PAPRINSA COGENERATION

In this cogeneration plant, an old gas turbine was replaced by a new 7 MW model Taurus 70 from the manufacturer Solar Turbines.

 

Relevant civil works were necessary, such a new concrete foundation, and adapting all the auxiliaries (mechanical, electrical and control systems) to the new turbogenerator, including the exhaust gas duct to the existing recovery steam generator.

HYDRO POWER PLANT EL TOQUI

The TOQUI project consisted of the expansion of the Toqui Mine hydroelectric plant, in Chilean Patagonia. A 1.9 MW electric power Francis type turbine was installed, manufactured by Andritz Hydro in France.

 

All the electricity generated avoids the consumption of diesel at thethe mine’s power station which is based in several diesel engines. This is an isolated network not connected to the distribution network. The environmental and economic benefits are very relevant, with a decrease in diesel consumption of 1,700,000 liters per year. This project emerged as a result of the global energy audit performed at the whole mine, among other saving measures.

BIOGAS PROJECT AT UTE TEM

From the feasibility analysis to the start-up, this project was carried out with the aim of optimizing the use of biogas at the energy recovery cycle of municipal Waste-to-Energy plant at UTE TEM, in Mataró (Barcelona).

 

A biogas blower, transport pipes and two air jet burners were installed in order to preheat the primary air from the two incineration furnaces.

ANALYSIS FOCUS
  • Fluid dynamic analysis (CFD – COMPUTATIONAL FLUID DYNAMICS) uses applied mathematics, physics, and computer software to visualize how a fluid behaves, as well as to evaluate related heat transfer balances.

ALBANESI – CENTRAL ROCA

The Roca Electric Power Plant, located in Córdoba Argentina, is a 150 MW combined cycle in which a recovery boiler from the manufacturer Ricca has recently been installed for additional electricity generation in a new steam turbogenerator group.

EFITEKNA was in charge of validating the thermal and mechanical design of the steam generator, and solving construction anomalies that were detected during commissioning. EFITEKNA carried out a complete analysis by means of a fluid-structural study of said steam generator, as well as a mechanical, structural, and vibration study.

The Roca Electric Power Plant, located in Córdoba Argentina, is a 150 MW combined cycle in which a recovery boiler from the manufacturer Ricca has recently been installed for additional electricity generation in a new steam turbogenerator group.

EFITEKNA was in charge of validating the thermal and mechanical design of the steam generator, and solving construction anomalies that were detected during commissioning.
